General Terms and Conditions

1. Registration
	1.1.	The announced courses of study and tuition fees of theBETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG are subject to alteration.
	1.2.	Each registration is subject to admission by theBETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG. Final acceptance to the course of study is on receipt of the registration confirmation.
	1.3.	Registration must be received by the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG within the period stated in the prospectus, otherwise, in principle 14 days prior to the commencement of the course. Registrations are considered in the order of their receipt.
	1.4.	The participant will immediately notify theBETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG of any change of address.

2. Remuneration and Methods of Payment
	2.1.	The tuition fees include the cost of all work, teaching and practice materials as well as the supervision and support services offered by the Institutet.
	2.2.	Unless agreed otherwise, tuition fees are payable within 30 days of receipt of the invoice. The decisive date is the receipt of payment by the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG. The first invoice will be posted together with the study documents. A delay in payment entitles the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG to charge default interest amounting to 2% at the relevant current bank rate. The participant may reserve the right to supply evidence that he has incurred minor damages

3. Alteration of the Course Contents
	3.1.	The BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG is entitled to alter the contents and schedule of the Distance Learning Courses or the seminar programmes respectively and to replace members of staff assigned to a course by maintaining the overall character of the ev.
	3.2.	Furthermore, the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG is entitled to cancel events, in particular personal attendance courses, upon cause shown- in case of illness of a member of the teaching staff or an unacceptable low number of participants. Should this case scenario arise, any tuition fees paid will be reimbursed in full.

4. Degree Certificates
		After participating in the Distance Learning Courses and, where applicable, obligatory seminars and after successfully passing the compulsory intermediate and final examinations the participant will be awarded the relevant degree certificate by the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG The degrees are private degrees awarded by the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG. They are no academic degrees.

5. Copyright
		On participation in the educational programmes of the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG the participant acquires the right to use the study documents. The complete set of documents remains in the possession of the participant. However, the documents must not be used for teaching, they must neither be altered nor reproduced in any way, nor made available to a third party either in part or in full. Copyright laws apply and are binding.

6. Data Privacy Protection
		The data supplied on registration is processed for administrative purposes only and will be used exclusively in the context of the study programme at the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG.

7. Cancellation by the Participant
		Students may cancel their participation at any time even after registration and after taking up their studies with no particular notice period and without having to name their reasons. Cancellation requires written form. When cancelling: after registration but prior to taking up the studies, i.e., after receiving the study documents no tuition fees are payable by the participant; within 30 days of taking up the studies no tuition fees are payable by the participant. Should the participant have already paid his tuition fees at that point these will be reimbursed in full. Study documents must be returned to BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG; after 30 days of taking up the studies any outstanding tuition fee rates are cancelled. Any tuition fees that have already been paid cannot be reimbursed. The date of receipt of the documents by BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG is decisive. The participant may suspend his studies at any time.

8. Cancellation by the BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG
		The BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG may cancel the contract at any time without notice upon cause shown. A good cause is: a delay in payment by the participant; the violation of industrial property rights or copyrights by the participant or the violation of any other rights owned by the institute . In these case scenarios no tuition fees will be reimbursedn.

9. Liability
		The BETRIEBSWIRTSCHAFTLICHES INSTITUT UND SEMINAR BASEL AG is not liable for damages that do not result indirectly or directly from carrying out the training course, unless they are caused by a deliberate or grossly negligent violation of the contract.

10. Place of Jurisdiction
		Place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is Basel.

11. Final Clauses
		Any verbal subsidiary agreements require written form to become valid. Should a clause in this contract be or become invalid the other clauses remain inviolate. An invalid clause will be replaced by one which is most similar iwith regards to the economic agenda. This procedure also applies to loopholes in the contract.
